Earliest People Lived Longer. Why?

Have you ever wondered why it is that the earliest people lived longer than people do in present times? With all the civilization and advancements in health sciences and technology one would expect people in contemporary times to live longer than the earliest people did. But it's not so. The reasons are not far-fetched. Those people maintained a healthy lifestyle. How do we ascertain this? They fed fresh, that is, all their foods were fresh from the farm and lots of fruits and vegetables were included in their diets. More so, they did more rigorous tasks, hence using up more energy than we do today. All these helped in no small way to keep them strong and healthy and their lives prolonged.

Reverse is the case today. With rapid advancement in science and technology, labor saving devices are now used for work, thereby reducing the rate at which people use up energy. In many organizations, the use of staircases is gradually eroding and elevators have become the order of the day. What about computers for our work in the offices and all other forms of mechanizations we have at our disposals today? How about in our homes? Machines do virtually everything that man can do from laundry to dish washing even to chores as simple as chopping vegetables.

Not that any of these inventions is bad in itself as they have greatly helped to ease our work load. The point, however, is that being used to them does not help us maintain healthy lifestyles. Consequently, we have to make conscious efforts to do things that help to keep us healthy. I personally advise that you do something new everyday to keep up your energy level, and never forget to exercise, moderately...
